MANA

Welcome to the MANA System at Devon

At our school, we use the MANA system to foster a positive learning environment where students are encouraged to consistently meet our core values and expectations. MANA is based on the comprehensive PB4L framework that tracks student behaviour, provides clear guidance for staff, and celebrates student success through tangible rewards and badges.

The 3 Tiers of Behaviour

To ensure every student is supported appropriately, we categorise behaviours into three distinct tiers. These tiers help us determine who manages an incident and what the resulting consequences are:

Tier 1: Teacher Managed – These are classroom-level incidents handled directly by the teacher.
Tier 2: Team Leader Managed – If behaviour requires additional support, Team Leaders step in.
Tier 3: Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Managed – The highest level of intervention involving our senior leaders.
Detailed outlines of these behaviours are displayed in every classroom and included in all student diaries.

Daily Tracking & Points

Every student has a Tracking Sheet in their diary where they earn points based on their daily behaviour and organisation/readiness for school:

2 Points Met all MANA expectations or had a justified absence (e.g., illness/bereavement).
1 Point Organisation issues, such as incorrect uniform (including PE gear), unjustified lateness, an unsigned diary, or an unjustified absence.
0 Points Significant behavioural incidents (Teacher, Team Leader, or SLT managed), skipping class, truancy, missing a "reflection" session, or being on stand down.

Celebrating Success: Reward Days & Tickets

We believe in acknowledging students who consistently do the right thing.

MANA Reward Days

Twice per term, we hold MANA Reward Days. To participate, students must earn a target number of tracking points during the eligibility period.

MANA Tickets and Badges

Staff award MANA Tickets to students who demonstrate our current MANA Focus. These tickets accumulate over a student’s two years at Devon and lead to prestigious rewards:

50 Tickets: Bronze Badge + Devon Drink Bottle.
100 Tickets: Silver Badge + BK Lunch.
150 Tickets: Gold Badge + BK Lunch.
200 Tickets: MANA Honours Badge + Cafe/Restaurant lunch with Mrs Thorburn.
