At Devon Intermediate, sport is a massive part of our school culture. We take pride in offering a wide variety of activities that cater to every interest and skill level, ensuring that every student has the chance to get active and represent our school. From traditional team sports to unique local opportunities, we have heaps of sports teams ready for you to join.

Our competitive spirit truly shines during our annual Summer and Winter Sports Exchanges, where our athletes go head-to-head with other intermediate schools from across Taranaki. These exchanges are a fantastic way for students to build sportsmanship and school pride. We also celebrate excellence in performing arts and athletics; this year, we are incredibly excited to send our Hip Hop crew to the prestigious Aims Games in Tauranga to compete on the national stage.

The range of sports available is extensive, covering everything from the field to the screen. Students can participate in traditional favorites like Netball, Rugby, Football, Hockey, and Basketball, or try their hand at sports like Cricket, League, T-Ball, and Volleyball. For those who enjoy fast-paced action, we offer Rippa Rugby, Touch, and Badminton, while those looking for precision and strategy can join our Chess, Indoor Bowls, Table Tennis, or E-Sports teams.

We also make the most of our environment and physical fitness with events like the Surfing Comp, Ki-o-rahi, Athletics, Cross Country, and Swimming. For those who just want to have a blast with their friends, our Colour Run is always a highlight of the year.
