At Devon Intermediate, our key Resource Teacher: Learning and Behaviour (RTLB) is Ms Angela Pearson. RTLB support schools to strengthen inclusive practices and improve learning and wellbeing outcomes for students.
Resource Teachers: Learning and Behaviour work with schools to support students experiencing mild to moderate learning and/or behavioural needs. Support is collaborative and focuses on building school-based capability.
Students with the greatest level of need are prioritised, and schools are expected to demonstrate the strategies already in place before making a referral. To ensure effective coordination, any current or previous involvement with outside agencies should be shared as part of the referral process.
Students whose behaviour raises serious safety concerns for themselves or others should be referred to Group Special Education.
RTLB work alongside schools to address in-school learning and behaviour challenges, using an educational and strengths-based approach.
