Deputy Principal – Mrs Brookes

Kia ora Devon Intermediate Te Kura o Takawaenga o Ngāmotu whānau and community. My name is Dian Brookes and I am one of the Deputy Principals at our wonderful kura. I have a long connection with Devon as a student, child of a teacher, a teacher and parent of students.

I began my teaching journey at Devon in May 2008 and have yet to go anywhere else. Over my time here I have held a multitude of positions and roles during my tenure, including being the Digital Technologies teacher for two years, being a Team Leader for 4 years, worked with student debating teams, been the hockey coach – more like manager –  and a classroom teacher throughout my time. This has allowed me to get to know the tamariki and the wider Devon community in many different ways.

I look forward to continuing my learning and development as an educator and a school leader with the amazing staff and students we have at Devon over the coming years. I encourage you to get in contact if you have questions and to support your tamariki through this exciting stage in their educational and personal development alongside us.

Ngā mihi

Mrs Dian Brookes
