14th March 2022
Kia ora Whanau
Over the weekend I had 8 staff test positive for COVID which has caused an issue ensuring classes are able to be kept open in a safe manner. In addition to that, every class has one or more students either with COVID or self-isolating due to a family member having COVID.
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our school community, from Wednesday 16th March we will move to off-site online learning which will mean your child will be asked to learn from home accessing their Google classroom. Classes will happen between 10 am and 2 pm. In the event your child cannot access online learning, they will receive a hard pack of work before they leave school on Tuesday afternoon.
Those students in Rooms 14, 5, 6, 19 will be contacted by their teachers once the teacher is well enough to move to online teaching and I am asking that students in those classes continue with the hard-pack learning we will supply them with until that time.
I am aware that for some families, they are unable to supervise their children due to work commitments and we will have staff onsite for those students but I do ask that you call the school office 06 758 5266 or email Marissa at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know to expect them. For students who are physically attending the school, hours will be as normal, 8.45 until 3pm.
For those students who are physically attending school on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, they will need to bring their own lunches and snacks.
At this stage, school will resume as normal on Monday 21st March. I will update you of any changes through our school Facebook page, Skool Loop, and by email, if we have your correct email address.
I would like to again express my thanks to those parents who are letting us know when their child either tests positive or is a household contact and I would ask that you continue to do this.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
