International Languages Week
In Week 5 Devon will be celebrating International Languages Week (16th-20th August). Senora More & selected Room 6 students will be leading the organisation for this event. There will be a full week’s programme of festivities! Room 6 already consider ourselves to be the ‘Multicultural Capital of Devon’ as we learn both Te Reo Maori & Espanol (Spanish).
Food and Nutrition
Our new Science/Health topic is going to be a Food & Nutrition unit. We will be testing food for sugars etc, keeping food diaries and learning about the human digestive system whilst utilising the ‘Discovery Zone’ Science Lab.
Mokoia Sports Exchange
During Week 4 Devon will be hosting students from Mokoia Intermediate to participate in an Interschool Sports Exchange. It has always been a challenging event! A disco will be held at school on the Thursday evening.
Enrichments
Term 3 brings us a brand new range of enrichments held on Wednesdays. Students put forward their names for one of the following interesting programmes: The DaVinci Experience with Mr Whyte, Chinese with an outside tutor, Gym Trainers with Mr Avery, Devon Enviro Group with Mrs Young, Introduction to Drawing/Painting with Miss Dobson, Espanol with Senora More & Pasifika with Mrs Webster-Kumeroa. The remaining students will be studying a unit on ‘Careers’. So everyone gets to be involved in something new.

Camp – (11 – 15 October, 2010)
The Great Wellington Escape is on in the first week of Term 4. YES, five whole days of camp! We have great fundraising ideas. Even if you are not going to camp, you can choose to fundraise for a friend that is going.
