Room 10

Teacher: Ms Taylor

Welcome to Term Three, 2010.

We have started the term with the Creative Arts J Rock, Kapa Haka and Pasifika Groups touring three schools and then returning to Devon Intermediate to perform to two more schools in the hall.

The schools we performed for were:

¨ Woodleigh School

¨ Frankley School

¨ Spotswood Primary

¨ St Josephs

¨ West End Primary

It was a busy day and provided many students with their first taste of performing on the road.  We have received positive feedback from the schools, with them being impressed by all of the groups.

This term we are starting with a unit study topic of Native American Indians.

We will be learning about different tribes in the United States and how their way of life reflects the environment around them.

Our first Maths topic this term is Fractions, Decimals, Percentages and ratios.

In preparation for the school cross country, the Creative Arts students will be increasing the speed and distance in their running.

Term Three at Devon Intermediate has a focus on involvement!  Please support and encourage your child to be involved in as many of the opportunities provided to them.

We are focusing on encouraging and supporting students in achieving their “Attitude for Excellence”.  All students in Room 10 are expected to at least gain a merit in the area of The Arts this year and we are aiming for as many as possible to attain their “Attitude for Excellence” award also.
